Travel - Frankfurt - Paris

As I am now officially without any formal career, flying off to anywhere, anytime is not actually an issue. This past year, I had the liberty to go to a few places for holidays (yeap! being a full time mom also needs a break) without having to think about the work that I've left at the office or the piles of files that need to be reviewed or having to wait for those non ending phone calls either to seek for approval, or just to ask where do I put those my files (eyes rolling)

In the month of May, Mr Hubby got an invitation to go to Frankfurt for the 3 days iMax program. Without hesitation I VOLUNTEER to accompany him (Ha..ha..) which he happily agrees and decided to extend the stay over the weekend to take me to Paris to celebrate our second honeymoon for our 15th year anniversary. See, I am not about to make the same mistake twice!!! 3 years ago, he was required to go to London for the Harvard Rowing Competition and he has also applied for annual leave so that we could visit Paris.

Tell me I'm stupid, naive or whatever, I declined, citing that I've scheduled a meeting and training session on the week that he's there. (I planned the meeting and training 3 months earlier because it is difficult to engaged with the department. And true enough, the department cancelled the meeting and training 2 days before it is due, saying that they are busy). That really taught me a lesson.! When you have to choose, opt for FAMILY!!!

That never going to happen twice for me. For anyone of you who are still working, do not make the same stupid mistake as I did. We are really talking about PARIS - the City of LoVe.

Whilst in Frankfurt, I was pretty much alone, enjoying the weather, scenary, places and people. Eventhough language is a barrier, the people are LoVely and never fails to amaze me. The are kind and helpful. One time I was on the tram, trying to get back to IBIS hotel at Rebstockbad, the tram last stop not far from Leornardo-Da-Vinci Allee, but I hopped on to the wrong tram. Instead of taking No 17 to Rebstockbad, I took no 11, which I had no idea where it was going. Just hop on and enjoy the ride, that is what I told myself, a totally opposite of who I am (or used to be. Whilst working, I need to be in control, need to know what is going on, and need to 'predict' what is going to happen.) But here I am, all alone not caring to be lost in some foreign land and foreign language that I have no idea what they are talking about..... but I trust the people. Their aura give me the warmth which makes me decided to put my trust in them. I met a man who was able to give me the correct direction with as little english that he could, and I met a lovely woman who just clock-off from duty (ticket inspector) who was very very kind to chat with me in her mother tongue! I do appreciate it sooo much!.    I

Breakfast is absolute heaven @IBIS

In the Tram to Messe

Dinner was a simple affair. I usually  skipped lunch as I usually had huge breakfast at IBIS. For dinner there was a halal kebab store in Messe and the rice was superb. (Maybe because I was hungry? No matter what the rice was great) and also ordered Falafel. Anyone who is going to choose these please note that the portion is big enough that it could be shared by 2-3 people.

The last day in Frankfurt, I decided to do like many Asian tourist do, go to Designer Shopping Outlet. I went to Hauptbahnhof the Main Central Station, and took a bus to Weirthem Village. The trip should be about 1 hour. While waiting for the bus, I saw a lady walking with her ferret, just like anyone who would walk their dog. It was sooo cute that I could not resist to talk to her. She told me her ferret's name is Mila and they are going to Munich, taking the same bus.
